Hi, I did have the cinch on 4/23. My doctor told me in advance that he was only going to put in two stitches, and that he might have to go back to put in 2 more later. It looks like that might happen, because, so far, I can't tell much difference. I still have a lot of belching and stomach discomfort -- hard to tell if I have heartburn because I really have a sore throat from the large overtube they used during the procedure. I have been told to wait until the end of the month to give everything a chance to heal, and if I still don't feel improvement, I'll have another 24 hr. ph test. If that still shows significant reflux, I'll go back for 2 more stitches. I was hoping the first time would take care of it, but was prepared that it might not. I know my doctor didn't want to put it too many stitches from the beginning, which could make the LES opening too tight. Though I was under conscious sedation, I was really knocked out. They didn't want me to move at all during the procedure. I had it at 11 am and could barely leave the hospital at 5 pm -- my mother had to drag me out of bed! Got sick from the anesthesia of course, and didn't eat until the following day. Two days later I could eat almost normally, just sore from the tube. Ate applesauce which hurt the area where the stitches are -- I laid off anything acidic for another day. Hope the next time takes care of it. It's certainly not as hard as the Nissen to go through, so I think it's worth a try if you're a candidate. Rose
