Hey Lisa! So we'll be doing the same thing on the eigth!! I am scheduled to go in at 9:15 a.m., and you better believe I'll be thinking about you. Thank you for comparison with the mammogram -- I have been looking for a sort of discomfort scale for comparison and that really helps.
I will be taking Zantac up to midnight, Wednesday. Will be taking Mylanta up to midnight Saturday. Might take a sedative on Sunday and then no more meds until after the test. My husband is going to take those days off from work to be with me -- I will probably have rebound from getting off of the drugs (sensitive system) and will not be a happy camper.
It would appear that the acid reducers and/or proton pump inhibitor may have changed the way my brain is sending messages. We are trying to see if my HB is physiological or neurological, who knows. Its so scary because I have esophagitis now and I believe the only way to treat it is with an acid reducing drug.
Was it your idea to have another test, or was it the docs? Is it because of the meds taken prior to the first test? Also, I didn't understand what you meant about not lying down for the last test. Am wondering what you will be eating/drinking the day of the test. Do they want you to go out and eat things that give you heartburn? I'm at a bit of a loss, because the staff at the hospital didn't give me any written information and really don't like talking on the phone. Incredible!!
Take care LisaM - jula
