Dear Lisa, Thank you for the info about the surgeon. I will setup an appointment with him. I live in Duluth, GA (actually I just moved from Chicago). I have had GERD for 8+ yrs but it's become severe only in the last 2 years. None of the GI's are treating me for whatever my problem is. Some think it's hiatal hernia, other say it's LES and some say it's gastric emptying. I have tried reglan for about 1 month and could not stand the side effects (depression, dizziness, etc.). I even tried propulsid for about a month but had no luck. I was still feeling full, nasueated and I was refluxing. My new GI thinks I should try Don Peridone (sp?) and I am going to give it a shot. Yes, I was on prevacid when I had the Gastric Emptying study done but I am not sure if that's a major factor in my case. I have had days where I have not eaten for 2 days and still not felt hungry. Hopefully you will feel better after your surgery. Recently I have started to maintain a dairy since there are too many variables (food, drugs, symptoms, time, activity, etc.)
