The post-Nissen people I know personally are able to vomit. My surgeon laughed at this -- thinks I'm spending too much time on the net, exchanging horror stories.

As I have vomited only 5-6 times in my life (and I'm in my 50s), I'm not worrying about this. What amazes me from these exchanges (which recur every few weeks, it seems) is how often everyone else vomits and how nervous people are at the thought of not being able to. It never occurred to me before that this matters!

Disclosure: I'm sure I've vomited more than that, but I don't have any way of remember the first few years of my life, when I probably was doing so a lot, like most babies.
