I have been reading many of your posts with interest because of similar symptoms and I am from Atlanta too. It's great that you have are finally getting help.
Who's your Doc at Emory? My GI doc is Dr. Waring at Piedmont (I believe he used to be at Emory). When did you decide to go with the surgery? I have heard that Dr. Smith or Dr. Hunter are good surgeons. When you go to see them ask them lots & lots of questions? Especially about gas bloat, vagus nerve, swallowing disorders, etc.
I have delayed emptying issues so I am a little reluctant on the surgery. Keep us posted.
