If you have delayed emptying issues, you might be VERY interested in the surgery. Check out this article: Nissen fundoplication improves gastric motility in patients with delayed gastric emptying, Surgical Endoscopy (2001) 15:271-271. The authors are Farrell et al, and include Drs. Smith and Hunter from Emory.
Another article published last month in an international journal found the same results from a study in Germany.
The bottom line: fundoplication improves gastric emptying, with no increased risk of bloating.
