Yes, anything can happen to any individual person. But at least the statistics are in one's favor nowadays.
Isn't it amazing how fast things are changing in this field? The articles published in 94-95 were so certain that delayed gastric emptying was associated with increased gas bloat. Of course the introduction of the floppy Nissen has changed things.
(I am headed up to Atlanta on Friday for my surgery, but I'm having it done over at Georgia Baptist, with the folks at Letton and Mason surgical group.)
