Hi JML, welcome to the wonderful world of PPI's, before I found this site I thought I was the only person in this world that had side effects to them..Dr's think I am crazy, I sure wish they would read this board..I have been trying for over 2 months now to wean myself off and so far cant seem to get past the 3rd day with out bad heartburn..so I have a choice, suffer or take another Prilosec..which doesnt help much but does help enough to make it bearable.. I dont remember have they done any other tests on you?...there is alot of helpful info on here..lot of different opinions too, but it all boils down to that we are all in the same boat.. did they have give you Zantac, or Pepcid, or any other meds before the PPI's?.. hope that you find your answers
