Hi all (and more specifically Paul), saw the post from Lisa about chronic pancreatitus and had to comment. I've lost a total of 42 pounds now, can't tolerate fat, fried, carbonated, you name it. I've had mri, 2 endoscopies, colonscopy, upper gi series with barium, lower pelvic ultrasound, tons of x-rays, been tested for cf, ms, arthritis, aids, lupus, fat stool, fat fecal, enzymes and liver tested every couple of weeks since September -- all normal. But I'm still having problems. I have periods of remission but stay with a 1-2 degree of pain most days. THen whaam for a couple of days excruciating pain in my stomach and under that left rib. It's so bad they gave me Vicodin (a narcotic) for the pain. Dr. Ferney is still insisting that I have mild gerd and IBS but because I can't take the PPI's says just watch your diet. I'm so worried about that pancreas I could scream. Has anybody got any suggestions? I'm almost tempted to ask for that ercp but Dr. Ferney says 20-25 percent of patients get pancreatitus and I certainly don't want that. I have a floating diahrrea with mucousy oily looking snotty stuff and he gave me lipram 2 tablets every meal and that stopped the diahrrea. The diahhrea is what is a symptom of pancreas dysfunction. Please help. I've been suffering since September. I don't have a gallbladder nor appendix.
