Hey, I had to answer your post even tho it was not to me. About this chronic pancreatitis, this is what my doctor told me I may have. I am presently recovering from gallbladder/ovary surgery and have not been posting because i am pooped and it seems like 2 steps forward, 1 step back. About this ercp, my doc said the same thing. Is your stool always like that? There is another test which is much safer that can visualize the pancreas. But it is not a common test around. I know they have it at Mayo in Jax. It is called EUS. Endoscopic Ultrasound. It is a scope with an ultrasound at the tip. It can pretty much find out what is going on under the surface of things, and it is used specifically to look at the pancreas, when ther is trouble suspected. I have resumed eating fat. It remains to be seen what will ensue now with me. Anyway, just wanted to pass this info on. You have lost about as much weight as me. That the meds work seem to point to a pancreatic problem. I am not sure I would do the ercp....
