Hi Beegs,
Hmm, when I saw your post I thought I don't think that is my impression of Dr. DeMeester's position. I thought I remembered that he had been talking about bile/duodenal reflux for some years. So, last night I went and searched the medical journal articles in Pubmed to see what Dr. DeMeester had published. Well, I found that he has indeed been writing about the problems caused by bile/duodenal reflux for years. There were articles from 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 years ago (as far back as I looked--and there were plenty more abstracts from articles written by Dr. DeMeester that I haven't had a chance to look at yet). So, Dr. Shipko gave you incorrect information. Dr. DeMeester did not reject the theory 5 years ago as he was already writing about it AT LEAST 6 years ago. And as far as I'm concerned that means Dr. Shipko has very little credibility with me if that is the kind of information he provides.
In fact, I've never heard of Dr. Shipko before. Did he say *where* he presented a bile theory to Dr. DeMeester? Do you know Dr. Shipko's initials? If you post them I can more easily search for him in Pubmed. Then I can see if he has published anything in the medical journals.
