Hi Darcy, I TOTALLY understand where you are coming from. It does appear that anxiety and panic come hand and hand with this disease. The diet pills are MOST LIKLEY causing some of your problem. I think they may have actually helped START my gerd. Probably not the whole cause, but definately a contributing factor. I also find that when I drink the green tea, I have LOTS of chest, abdominal pressure and pain, uncomfortable feeling. If I drink herbal tea it seems to really help sooth. Hang in there, and I wish you luck with your surgery. Don't be discouraged by the panic. I have been going through it for 2 years, and just now am starting to get better with it. If it doesn't get better after the surgery,don't wait like I did. It nearly wrecked my life, ask for some type of calming pill. I take occasional xanax, and it helps tremendously. Doesn't take all the pain away, but it helps to calm, and I believe if I can stay somewhat calm, I will heal better. I have also started on elavil. I will see how it goes. Anyway good luck!!
