A Beta Blocker is a medicine that slows the blood pressure down and in turn the heart rate. Yes, I have a hiatal hernia and neither does my Dr. seem overally concerned about the heart racing. I can also feel the racing and the irreguality. It only seems to happen when there is the pressure from the hernia, or when I have gas I can feel it. It is so scary, but we must live with it I am afraid. I will be having more heart tests next year. Laurie
