There will be two pH values indicated. One if for the probe in the lower part of your esophagus (the distal esophagus) and the other is for the upper part of your esophagus (proximal esophagus). Anything below 4.0 is considered acidic. The number of times the pH goes below 4.0 and the amount of time spent below 4.0 are the data that the test is designed to determine.
