I am 3.5 weeks post Nissen. It was absolutely the best medical decision I ever made. I am completely cured of heartburn and any other GERD symptoms. I am a 37 year old male and had GERD for 7 years. The only issue I have post-op is some difficulty swallowing certain foods. Bread seems to be the worst. As long as I chew my food very thoroughly and take small bites, I have no problems. I am enjoying being able to eat foods that were previously banished from my diet (especially tomato and Italian food.)
