In the interest of being sure that you make your decision with all the facts, NOT with the intent of confusing you, I just want to mention that if you go a route that does not fix your hiatal hernia, you might run into problems down the road should the hernia worsen over time (and I believe most of them do thanks to aging).

If you do not have a lap Nissen while your diaphragm is still in decent engouh condition so that it can be repaired nicely, it will not be strong enough to hold the wrap, and the Nissen will fail, leaving you with a diaphragm in even worse condition, of course. If you can't have a lap Nissen once you've had an endocinch (I know nothing about this procedure so maybe you can), I think you'll especially want to consider this reality.

And please don't let your doctor steer you into a solution simply because he or she is most familiar or comfortable with it. Go get at least one consult from another expert.
