Lee, bless your heart! It's so good to hear from you but I just wish you had better news for us. Sounds like your travel ordeal was just about as wacky as a trip can get. Time to chill out and recharge your batteries.
I AM encouraged by your description of Dr. Smith's assessment. In fact, I can't imagine him behaving any other way. If anyone can get to the bottom of your troubles, he will.
You know when people tell you they are going to this doctor or that doctor and they swear up and down they are going to the "best"? I mean the best in their field, the state, country, world - you get the idea. Well, Dr. Smith may not be the "BEST" on the planet but he has to be in the top 10. All right, make that top 5. His credentials and experience are not just impressive, they are stellar. I don't think a hospital of Emory's caliber would have such a relatively young doctor has head of gastrointestinal surgery if he wasn't the very best available for the job. I'm not saying this because he was my surgeon. I'm saying this to remind you that it would be pretty tough for you to be in any better hands right now. I just know he will do everything in the world to see you back to good health. He's no quiter and I know you're not - so hang in there! Let us know how the tests work out. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Remember, we're here 24/7. - Robin
