One more thing to mention to you. When I was being eval'd by Lucas at Kennestone Hosp, she wanted me to take a gastric emptying test. I took it while I was on Prevacid. Actually, did not take it that morning, however that prevacid and most ppi's take a few days to stop doing their thing. The test showed a delay - took twice as long as normal. I asked the gi whether it could be from the prevacid, she said she never heard of such a thing and that I needed to go on reglan. I went to look at the full dispensing info and it said prevacid has been shown to significantly delay the gastric emptying of solids. At that point I was so flustered bec I felt like she was putting me on one med that caused a problem, and then another med that fixed that problem. Reglan is not something you want to take on a regular basis long term anyway. This new gi at Piedmont said let's see how it looks now, and so with no ppi, it was normal in October. Just thought you might want to know that it is possible that ppi can cause delay for some folks.
