Hi, I can't remember where I read this, but there are two different types of gas pain. Built up gas in your stomach and intestinal gas pain. Which one do you have? Or do you have a combo of both. If it's intestinal gas pain. What I have found is staying away from wheat, starch and raw vegetables. All seem to really do a number on me. I also tried the Charcoal tablets mentioned on this board and they really seem to help with the intestinal gas. AND you can take them at the onset. I'm on aciphex, and since I don't have a lot of acid to break down the food in my stomach, the way I see it is my intestines have to work harder. So, again, I try to stay away from foods that are hard on it.

For abdominal or stomach gas. This can also cause a lot of pain but mainly in your stomach. What I have found is a little bit of 7up and Sprite or something carbonated but no caffeine, relieves the build up in my stomach. Or pepto usually does the trick too. It's important, however, not to over do it on the soda, no coke or pepsi, because that can be hard on the stomach and then, also, increase the gas and you're back to square one :) I hope I've helped. I've had GERD quite a long time, we've become good friends <major sarcasm :>
