MMN, if you are taking acid meds: PPI you cannot take for at least 10 days or more. h2s I believe is 48 hours. Any other meds like your librax probably 24 hours, but I would ask. What I am really dying to know is what they do for bile refluxers, as the only thing I am aware can actually fix this problem is biliary diversion and that is major plumbing work which I would like to avoid. The only other thing I know of is carafate, and xanax, which is a cck antagonist. When you say the stem of the gallbladder, are you sure you don't mean common bile duct... I don't think they can see the common bile duct tho on egd. All they really see is your esoph, les, hh if there is one at the time, stomach, pylorus, duodenum.... just wondering......... I know I told you this already, but the bilitec is not covered by any insur. bec. it is not fda apprvd yet. What I wish some doctor would do is find out how Dr. Katz treats patients with bile reflux, other than the biliary surgery referral, is there a med that other docs don't know about that he is using on patients with this unusual problem??? I wonder if your doc can find out.. I am without a dr at the moment waiting on a new one ... soooo I am up the river without a paddle.
