I take xanax to stop nocturnal bile reflux. I am also on a ppi, but even double dose prevacid does not stop this nocturnal reflux. It used to work at .5 per night. Now I am taking .75 - it is not working yet, my doctor is upping me to 1 mg. I will not take more than that and as soon as I have relief from the bile reflux for a few weeks I will try to wean off slowly. If it should occur that the bile reflux returns, then I am going to be rescoped to see damage. What I guess I need to know is if it is damaging, and how much time can go by without addressing this problem with surgery...
You have had surgery, but if you are still having problems, you should go back to the surgeon, and see if the fundo is intact. What does your reflux feel like?
