Hey Jim
Yeah, the Protonix had that exact same effect in my abdomen as well, mostly aroung the belly button. It feels as though, if you even barely rub up against anything, there is a sharp object trying to poke out of the belly. Right? Anyway, I switched to Prilosec and it went away immediately.
