Hi Jim. If you press in right above your belly botton, the pit of your stomach, it hurts? You are the first person that I've found with the exact same problem. It's an annoying, awful, painful thing. Mine has to do with having gastritis. Inflammation of the stomach. Have you had an endoscopy recently? You may want to ask your GI to perform one if it's been a while. The protonix is definitely working for me as far as the burning, but that pain is still there if you press in. I think this just has to do with the inflammation (Gastritis) I think that may be just your problem and NOT due to the protonix use. Ask for an endoscopy and you really need to treat your tummy good. Diet is key, for a coup[le of months at least. Let me know what happens. Again, ask for that endoscopy!
