LOL. If I were you, and I know it's hard because I'm dying for a drink, I wouldn't touch a beer for at least a few months. I know it sounds crazy, but it's your stomach and it's basically up to you. I myself wouldn't. My tummy's too important. Alcohol just feeds the fire (inflammation) I eat things that are easy to digest. Chicken, turkey, pasta, soups, turkey burgers, etc, etc. No beef. Beef is very hard to digest. Also, chew, chew, chew, before you swallow ;) It's a tough diet, but if it's done for a couple of months, just to give the stomach time to heal, you'll be able to go back eating anything you'd like. Alcohol is "THE" number one factor in gastritis and chronic gastritis. If you do a search on google.com about this, you will see. Again, it's all up to you. It's your body! ALSO, no smoking. I've had gastritis since last august. Since being on the protonix I've felt great, along with the diet I've been keeping. Things have definitely improved! I'm dying for a drink, but if you've read what I've read, and you took care of the patients that I do, you'd never drink. Good luck and let me know how you do ;) YOU CAN DO IT......LOL
