Have you seen your Doctor about the pain you described or went to the emergency room? Your pain could well be GERD related but it is very important to rule out potential heart problems immediately. If you haven't had this pain checked out, don't assume it isn't a heart attack.
Chest pain was what sent me to the Doctor and my heart was tested with an EKG and a stress test. Knowing that I didn't have a heart problem - not assuming - provided a lot of relief.
If you have had your heart checked, an upper GI series and/or endoscopy can detect a hiatal hernia or other problems. Again, see your Doctor.
I pray and hope you find the cause and resolution soon.
