Hi Jane...scroll about 1/2 way down this page to my reply from the post"Seeking Care", this sums the onslaught of my illness. I had alot of tests since this started (end of Jan.); had to wait 6 weeks for the last one (gastroscopy) which finally diagnosed my problem...Dr. was quite sure it was my gallbladder until then. Nothing helps completely yet;tried Aciphex, Prevacid, Nexium, even with double doses-Bentyl, Zantac, Pepcid Complete and Carafate (currently trying) plus all the otc antacids. I haven't had motility or 24 Ph tests yet; not sure if I'm a candidate for surgery or not..I don't really want to keep taking drugs for the next 40 years or more(I'm 42) and since they're not working that great anyway, I worry about irritation to my esophagus. I have done all the lifestyle changes and that has greatly helped the heartburn; also lost 13 lbs-I was about 20 lbs overweight, so that has helped too-exercise most days of the week-mostly walking-can't bounce too much. The biggest problem now is this flemy,acidy, soury constant taste which has gotten better, but like I said-not completely gone. Well-let me know when/how you get your under control and good luck!
