hi i live in nothern ireland, and although a small country, at least the doctors give u an opption..i have had about 6 or 7 endiscopes..and have had them done both with and without drugs..mostly over here they use the valium. i have had no side effects from that. without drugs isn't that bad, and you can go home when your throat unfreezes, well over here they numb your throat with a bit of pray, tastes a bit unpleasent... but what the hey...cant you go back to the doctor that did your first endoscope..then you wont have to worry.. hope this helps.......pearl..
