I am in week 9 post fundo surgery. I was eating soft foods immediately. I found things like puddings, cottage cheese, soups, canned spaghetti O's, Yogurts, and cream of wheat worked well. I supplimented with Boost. By week 3 I was eating toast, but no soft breads. By week 4 I was eating about 70-80% of the foods I used pre-surgery. Here at week 9 I've been eating everything except hard crusted bread. Every now and then something sticks when I eat too fast or fail to chew completely. My surgeon explained that the esophagus must learn to push harder now that a new tighter valve is in place. Before, with a weak valve, the food basically flowed right into the stomach with little effort on the part of the esophagus. Good luck with your recovery.
