Hi Millie, It sounds like it could be acid rebound that you're experiencing. Im not an expert but I know that if you've been on ppi for a fair amount of time you can experience it. Your stomach has been so used to the ppi inhibiting the production of acid, that when you stop the ppi, the stomach over compensates and hypersecretes acid, which can cause the stomach burning/heartburn etc... This in time should get better, when the stomach realises its producing too much and goes back to secreting normal amounts again. Although, if you have gerd, although it can get better, the heartburn might never completely go away off ppi's. Ive written a post above about my experience, love Heather
