Millie, It's probably not the fat that's the culprit, although fat isn't helpful, but rather the lactose. even in lactose tolerant people, it is harder to digest than other types of sugars. Try some frozen yogurt and see if you have the same problems. the cultures in yogurt break down the lactose. For some reason, ice cream is considered one of the biggest problems for lactose intolerant people (maybe it's because it's high in fat, too?).
