I have had this for years, lightheadedess often accompanies chronic conditions, and also is exacerbated by anxiety and shallow breathing. It is a common feature of anxiety conditions, and for me personally often accompanies the onset of a cold ( inner ears can be involved at these times ) Most likely you will not get a satisfactory answer to this, I once read that dizziness is the second most common complaint in the Dr.'s office. Remember though, true vertigo is a sense of the room spinning about, very different from lightheadedness, which is a sense of imbalance.
