I was pretty sick when I was pregnant. I, of course, did not know at the time that I had a hiatal hernia. The docs started me on Tums. We progressed to prescription strenght Pepcid and Zantac. Then we went to Tagamet coupled with Carafate. Of course, mildest forms of antacids are best but they can give her stronger meds if necessary. I worried about taking so much but I was unable to eat and that is a serious problem when you are trying to do it for one let alone two. Best wishes.
