I did go in to see my ENT and it was actually for something else, but while I was there, I mentioned that my throat felt very sore and that it felt as though something was there when I swallowed. So while she was doing the nasal scope, she took a look. Now I'm guessing that they can see the "Entire" throat very well that way, and she said that everything looked normal and that it didn't even look as though I had ANY reflux what so ever. So when the sore throat didn't go away on the first round of antibiotics, I called my GP back again and again, without seeing me in the first place, called in another round. Now the hospital that I work in told me that the two antibiotics that were given were NOT really for throat infections, but rather respatory infections and that if I had strep, the two would DEFINITELY not work. So I finally got in to see someone else who looked and sent me for a culture and gave me the "Proper" biotic. Biaxin. I sure hope it does work. Doctors shouldn't be allowed to call in scripts without seeing you first which is what happened the first two times. As for it being acid or bile, etc, etc. Wouldn't I KNOW? I would think there would definitely be some KIND of signal/symptom? Maybe heartburn or any kind of burning for that matter? Something, but in my case there wasn't. You could also clearly see my tonsils (sp) were very inflammed. I just hope it's an infection of some kind, because if it is acid, I had NO symptom of it being so. I hate this :(
