Hello everyone, I have been looking at these message boards, and have found that many of you share with me the sypmtoms that I persist. However, I still wanted to share my story with you guys, and hope if any of you can lend an earful, and some advice. My pain started out one night, with like an ordinary cold, fever, vomiting, chills. After that night, I developed a tightness around my abdomen, and thought it was from the antibiotics I was taking for my cold. As days went by, my cold went away, but my stomach problems did not. little did I know that was just the begining. After repeated trips to my internist, and after getting an abd sonogram checking for kidneys, gallbladder(normal) I decided I need to see a gastroenterologist. He perfomed an upper endoscopy, and said I have hiatal hernia, and espoghal spasm. With this, he prescribed reglan. I could not take it, fear of developing parkinson-like syndromes, asked if I start something else, at which time he prescibed me prevacid. Worked fine for about 1 month, until sypmtoms returned. I have expermented with every known drug(nexium, prilosec, aciphex, protonix) and nothing! I changed my diet alltogether, and noticed that I cannot tolerate a glass of water. milk is fine. lately for the past year, I have been experincing pain under the rib cage, shoulder pain, numbness and feel like at times there is a lump in my throat. Went to my intern(who is also a cardiologist) and performed an ekg(normal)echocardio(normal) even worn a device for i2weeks, whic measures your hearbeat at the touch of a button during one of the episodes(normal) I have night pain, especially I will awake at 4 in the morning to pain in the middle of my chest. with anxiety, I experience racing heart, I take deep breaths, and several tums, and zantac. keeps me calm. reading from these messages, I see that alot of you have this same problem with more or less than the same sypmtoms. is there any hope? should I see my gastroenterologist again? It has been a year now since my last endoscopy, should I have a different test done? Any other medications I should know to try. Sorry this is so long, however, I am im scared at times, and feel alone which is why I come here to find some relief. Can anyone offer me some insight or just share your story as well. thank you guys
