Welcome Du,
Your story puts you exactly in the middle of a HUGE family of GERD sufferers here. You will never feel alone again after sharing and getting replies to your posts and possible email friends (which I've gained about 2 dozen of.....thank God! ).
I had every single one of your symptoms, maybe even more, and I was "only" diagnosed with moderated inflammation at the GE junction. Along with this, it was determined I'm blessed with a sensitive esophagus sydrome. I can't even imagine what it would be like to have a hiatal hernia to go along with that! However, I have heard of people who've been able to cope with this condition without the fundoplication surgery and some who've been healed completely when the HH was "small enough".
Did they measure the hernia in your case? And, what was the prognosis?
Thanks for sharing, Du!
Geary
