First I'd like to say how glad I am to have found this forum and to "meet" you all.
Does anyone else have continual abdominal pains, especially bad on an empty stomach, but no pain above the waist? I've been told I may have GERD but I don't experience any heartburn, just bad stomach pains and vomiting. Nexium and Gaviscon seem to help to some extent but when I stop taking them the problems return quickly. I always thought "reflux disease" included heartburn - is this true? I've had the "something stuck in the throat" symptom a couple of times but no burning sensation in the chest at all.
Do I have to live with this for the rest of my life? I don't want to be on medication for ever. I always feel a bit of a "failure" when I try to do without the Nexium but have to resort to it again.
