Don't worry -- things will go OK. It's very normal to be nervous, but completely unnecessary. There are tons of post-fundo posts here, for years, so if you read them, you'll see that we are all quite different. Many folks get back on their feet in a few weeks, others take months. It's not possible for us to predict each case.

If I were you, I'd stock up on soft food before you go into the hospital, just in case you're not up to shopping for a week or two. I kept brown rice, vegetables, chicken broth, and various herbs on had and mixed them, to create a variety of soft meals. I added soy beans, small shrimp, or minced up chicken for protein, once I was ready to handle them (probably bout 6-7 days after surgery). I also mixed yogurt and fruit into "smoothies."

No beef, bread or pasta -- they are too hard for your stomach to digest -- until much later.
