Hi, Thistle!
I always thought the diet restrictions after surgery were because of the 'new' LES and possible swelling, and the esophagus getting used to passing things through a more difficult.
From what you said, I also gather that you also shouldn't eat things that are usually more of a challange for your stomach to digest? Is that right?
