i think that qualitatively you can view les tightness by how the les closes on the scope in a retroflex view (where the scope is in the stomach and turned so it faces up towards the esophagous, if you've ever seen one of these shots you can see the tube coming down). it doesn't give a very accurate picture. manometry is still the most accurate measure of les competancy.
