At the risk of being redundant here.... Once again I say - bile reflux happens - and xanax can stop it
I decided okay scope looked normal - not friable or even inflamed - had pretty much skipped the prilosec every other day lately just to see if it would make a difference. When I was on double dose prevacid for 8 weeks, I had a friable les on egd. That was almost two years ago.
Since then I have been on xanax at night more than off it. Just tried to wean off it again after scope looked ok last thursday. This is what happened. Went three nights with a half dose Last night, I was freezing in my sleep, got more covers, no covers could keep me warm, but then I groggily realized i was also all perspired, so I woke up, and then sat up. Upon sitting up I realized that it was those chills I had had before. Then I could feel the liquid (a fair volume) just make its way down the gi system from the mid chest area into the stomach and then even into the intestinal area. Bloat and nausea accompanied this feeling. I sat up for a while, then got up, walked around. The fluid moved thru my body to wherever. Got back into bed and sat for a while - was no longer cold. This is from bile reflux these chills and nausea. And the xanax withdrawal brings it on...
I was on .5 last night.. going to try .5 one more night tonite. If it happens again, going back to 1 mg.
I don't know why no doctor seems to know that xanax stops bile reflux..
