I am having an awful time... I have almost gone to the emergency room twice this week. I was diagnosed with relux years ago and prilosec was helping. I lost a lot of weight and all was well. Weight is still off and I developed a chronic lump in my throat that feels like sinus but I can never swallow. I rarely if ever feel any burn in my throat, just a lump thaty I am always trying to swallow. I awake at night usually after 30-45 minutes in a panic because I fell pressure in my chest and throat and cannot burp it up and feel short of breath. I used to wake up short of breath and had a lot of diarrhea in college but I was eating horribly and was very overweight. Currently Nexium is doing nothing and I had an endoscopy that uncovered nothing. Sometime at its worst i feel like I have to cough something up but nothing...I am very frustrated with my doctor as he has downplayed it quite a bit as a sensation issue but I have trouble swallowing when at its peak and reflux treatment does not help. It does feel like there is food in my chest that I can not throw or burp up. I am really hoping to find a great doctor or someone with similar symptoms so I do not feel crazy. I have only seen one PHD and its not going well. My ENT said my throat is perfect as well. Thoughts? PS- I am 30 and in pretty good shape... regular excercise, this should not be happening should it?
