I too have a lump in my throat and I understand how anxious it makes you feel! My doctor downplayed it too which made me almost cry in his office I was so upset! I was lucky in finding an ENT who listened to me and did find swelling in my vocal cord region when he looked. I too urge you to seek a second opinion. Additionally, I am on prilosec but find that I need zantac at night to get better relief from the dreaded lump.
