It's not the LES, it's the CONSTANT irritation of the alcohol. I've watched four people die from esophageal cancer and all but one were heavy drinkers, the other was a heavy smoker. My aunt passed away a couple of years ago as well, from esophageal and bladder cancer. Very heavy drinker! None of these people were "Old". The alcohol alone irritates the mucosa and chronic irritation leads to big problems. Not to mention liver damage that is irreversible! No liver, you're in BIG trouble. If I were you, the last thing I'd be thinking about would be a drink. Try to get some help before it's too late......
