Monica,

If the obvious causes have been ruled out, it is time to look for the less obvious.

You mention being tested for h. pylori. Was it done with tissue samples gathered during endoscopy? Such testing misses about 50 percent of helicobacter infection because the tissue samples may be taken from an area not infected. A blood test for helicobacter is more reliable - but still not 100 percent. Some Doctors recommend treatment for helicobactor anytime gastritis symptoms are present.

There are also other causes of gastritis. The following is copied from the ThirdAge website:

<< Gastritis can be caused by infection, irritation, autoimmune disorders, or backflow of bile into the stomach (bile reflux). Infections can be bacterial or viral. Irritation can be caused by medications (such as aspirin or anti-inflammatory drugs), alcohol, chronic vomiting, excess gastric acid secretion (such as from stress), or eating or drinking caustic or corrosive substances (such as poisons). Gastritis can occur suddenly (acute gastritis) or gradually (chronic gastritis). >>

Bile reflux can irritate the stomach. The Bilitec 2000 device can determine if bile reflux is causing your gastritis. More information is on the Medtronic website:

Just some opinions. May be worthwhile to ask your Doctor about.
