As I've explained in my past posts, I am experimenting with different meds and herbs to try and clear up this (possible, but not clinically diagnosed) case of gastritis. My acid reflux hasn't bothered me for a good eight weeks or so-- but I am left with this abnormal appetite, bloated feelings, and occassional "warm" sensations (which seem to have possibly improved with the switch from Prevacid to Zantac-- too early perhaps to tell). In addition to the zantac, I am taking DGL tablets (licorice extract), an herbal capsule called Gastritix (which has things like ginger, wild yam, and slippery elm), and a whole food multi-vitamin (as my regular multi-vitamin was clearly causing more of the "warm" sensation in my stomach), and aloe juice a couple of times a day. Does this approach seem reasonable, and since I have yet to have any real abdominal "pain" from this (even though it's been with me for nearly three months now), should I continue to try different meds? If an endoscope shows inflammation, they'll just want to experiment with different meds anyway-- right?
