I think it WOULD be valuable to get the opinion of the ENT. Some of them are quite knowledgeable about GERD, and I think it would help to confirm that your laryngeal symptoms are in fact GERD related. Don't think of the visit only in terms of sinus/allergy problems.

As for being on losec for a year - hmmm. Would be more excited about this IF it were controlling your symptoms better. Doesn't sound like its been a complete success. If you are correct and you are still refluxing I would think about a trial on another drug - aciphex or prevacid, or challenge yourself to see if there are any other improvements in the area of diet or weight which can be made to lessen the chance of reflux.
