Recently I've been diagnosed with Gerd and haiatal hernia. I was recommended a very strict diet and I take medicines. However I can't stop the heavy heartburn (I've got it even when I eat only a little yesterday's bread). I've been taking drugs for 10 days but I don't see any result. My doctor said that there are no stronger medicines (the names of the drugs I take: controloc, coordinax - the second contains clsapridum, the first I don't remember what). What can I do? Even if the treatment succeds will I have to be on the very strict diet to the end of my life? Could surgery improve my situation? Would it be a good solution? What is the estimated cost of such surgery in USA? Thank You very much for your answer.
