Re: esophageal reflux from using fosamax

Fosamax causes calcium absorption in the bone. In doing so, it can lead to a low calcium levels in the blood. Some of the effects of low calcium include severe diarrhea, flatus, and reflux disease. Treatment for the symptoms are simple and involves nothing more than taking extra calcium. If the symptoms do not resolve with the extra calcium, then the Fosamax must be stopped. Fortunately, all of the symptoms should resolve completely once the medication has been stopped.
