Would like to get your opinion regarding my case. I have reflux. Heartburn is controlled with PPIs. PH probe showed upright reflux 20%. Esophageal motility normal. Gastric emptying delayed. Because this was a concern they put a tube in my stomach to measure peristalsis. This test said stomach motility was normal. Main symptom is chest pressure and chronic burping. I burp 150-200 times a day. Don't believe this is swallowed air. After 360' fundo burping was gone, but rather I had flatulence all day. The surgery seemed to reroute the gas from upper to lower. Very embarrassing but not painful. 5 months later burping and reflux came back. This was confirmed by ph probe. Had 2nd fundo once again done laproscopically. Surgeon said the first wrap slipped. Same results after 2nd surgery. Six months later wrap has slipped again. Now I am also bothered with bloating. My GI wants me to stay away from further surgery and wants to keep experimenting with different meds. Meds I have tried with no success include prevacid, aciphex, propulsid, reglan, domperidone, elavil, imipramine, and librax. The drug Baclofen is the only one I have found to help with the reflux. My surgeon wants to do 3rd fundo with mesh or pigskin to keep the wrap in place. Says 80% chance he can still do it laproscopically. Would like to know your opinion. Personally I am leaning toward surgery or waiting for the esophageal suturing. I can't help but think that everyone is missing the boat and that I have some sort of bug that is causing all this gas. Doesn't make sense that I could feel great for 28 years and then just wake up one day and start gulping down air. Also once the reflux was gone after surgery, I still had the gas it just moved. I appreciate your opinion.

Pete
