Is it possible that a certain food combination and cause the start of GERD? I never had problems with my stomach or heartburn until 5 months ago after eating a burrito! Thought I had food poisoning or an ulcer. Three weeks later I had my first episode of heartburn. Stomach pain was unbearable! Felt like I had a hole in my stomach. Upper GI showed reflux, endoscope didn't reveal much. No bacteria found. It's so bizarre that suddenly I can no longer eat & drink whatever. I have been on PPI's for 4 mos.- they do help a bit, but don't want do be on them forever and would like add more foods to diet. Use to take Motrin often - could this be the problem/cause? Going for a 2nd opionion in couple of weeks.
